Iron Man: Ben Simmons

The brains of the operation. A constantly evolving mechanical wonder. Perceived by some as arrogant, by others as brilliant. The O.G. — some might say, the Avengers’ No. 1 pick. Iron Man is the most compelling character in the MCU, and a fitting comparison for the Sixers’ 6-foot-10 wunderkind.

From the beginning, Tony Stark was the Avengers’ de facto point guard. He led every technological advancement, played a key role in planning each mission, and proved incredibly versatile over his decade-long crime-fighting spree.

Just harken back to the 2012 attack on New York City. Iron Man overpowered the Chitauri, went toe-to-toe with Loki and deflected a NUCLEAR BOMB. He did to the bomb what Ben Simmons has done many o’ times — bottled it up and sent it packing. Elite defense, if you ask me.

With the innate ability to process information on the fly and synthesize new, creative ideas on a whim, both Iron Man and Simmons are the most creative forces on their respective teams. As his suits have evolved, Iron Man has also developed into quite the assist man. Just watch Endgame.

From the beginning, there were those who questioned whether or not Iron Man could make the proper sacrifice to win it all — er, save humanity. Can Simmons make the same leap Tony made?
