Philadelphia 76ers and Marvel: The Avengers as Sixers
Hawkeye: Tobias Harris
Hawkeye doesn’t get enough credit. He lacks the supernatural powers of his Avenger counterparts, but he’s the most accurate shooter on the team and is essential to the completion of S.H.I.E.L.D’s prime objectives.
Tobias Harris fits a similar mold in Philadelphia. He’s overpaid to some and overhyped to others. But when it comes to projecting the Sixers’ long-term success, it’s impossible to overlook his importance.
Similar to Hawkeye, Harris is an efficient threat at all levels. Inside he can score over the top, while his 3-point stroke is pure as silk. For Clint Barton, whether it’s an explosive device for a bare-bones arrow, there’s no target too far, too small, or too difficult to hit.
There’s also the personal side. Harris is widely regarded as a good person and a good teammate. Barton played host to the Avengers in Age of Ultron, providing an escape from the impending threat of a cybernetic takeover. He has been a key factor in S.H.I.E.L.D’s operations since the first Thor movie.
So no, Hawkeye doesn’t play much defense. He can’t. He’s just a really in-shape dude. But his offense is sublime, and it goes a long way in diversifying the Avengers’ scope of attack. Count him out at your own risk.
