Spider-Man: Matisse Thybulle

The new kid on the block. Spider-Man showed up in the MCU as a fledgling, not really sure what to do or where to go. While his moment of maturation came in Infinity War (and then Far From Home), there’s no looking past the general freshness of Spidey’s character in relation to the MCU.

Thybulle is the rookie — someone the Sixers coveted and actively sought out on draft night. He’s still learning the NBA ropes, but there’s a clear similarity between Thybulle and one of the MCU’s most iconic characters: they both cover a lot of ground.

While Spider-Man uses super-human athleticism and web-slinging to navigate choppy terrain, Thybulle uses elite quickness and instincts to break into passing lanes and force turnovers. He’s also a prime transition target, often galloping ahead of the defense on fast breaks.

Renowned for his defense and I.Q., it’s often appears as though Thybulle is operating with a sixth sense on the court. He has a nose for the basketball, which led to 3.5 steals per contest at Washington. A certain superhero also has a sixth sense.

It will take time for Thybulle to grow into his role as a Philadelphia cornerstone, but he’s a talented prospect with a tantalizing skill set. The Sixers will enjoy his contributions.
