Ant-Man: Mike Scott

Okay, I mean, duh. Ant-Man is literally in command of a large, strangely loyal group of insects — some might call it, in the context of an article comparing Scott Lang to Mike Scott, a … Hive. To further the obvious connection, Scott Lang loves his kid, and Mike love da kids.

In the MCU, Ant-Man’s story has been one of personal triumph in the face of past failures. He fell victim to a life of crime, which resulted in the loss of his wife and his daughter in a messy divorce. Then he fought the Avengers in Civil War, which brought about a painful reconciliation process with Hank and Hope Pym.

Through the turbulence, however, Scott mustered the willpower to fight on, eventually playing a key role in reversing Thanos’ snap. For (Mike) Scott, past legal issues and a rough stint in L.A. haven’t stymied his career. He had one of his best runs to date in Philadelphia last season.

In a blue-collar city that appreciates good talent, Scott has quickly become a fan favorite. No Avenger embodies Scott more, and that’s without mentioning the obvious Hive parallel. The Ant-Man movies are fun, and so is Mike Scott. End of story …
