The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to have multiple contenders for NBA awards in 2019-20.

The 2019-20 NBA season is upon us. As training camps start up, the collective attention will once again shift from that lame football stuff to basketball — the crown jewel of the sporting world (Disclaimer: football is not lame).

That means the Philadelphia 76ers will be on T.V. again, shooting basketballs into hoops and crushing the souls of undermanned opponents by virtue of size and muscle alone. Joel Embiid will dance around defenders in the post, Ben Simmons will drop no-look passes in transition, and Al Horford will set textbook screens before popping to the elbow for mid-range jumpers.

With the NBA season also comes award debates. Who wins MVP? Who wins Rookie of the Year? How do we actually defined Most Improved Player, and why don’t sophomores ever win despite normally being the most improved players? All these questions will once again be debated until the season ends and no real consensus is reached, leading to more debates over the summer.

In a time-honored tradition, we here at The Sixer Sense convened to give our ballots for each NBA award (well, predictions at least). We have opinions from eight writers, offering prophetic insight on every major category.

Here it is.
