There are five players on the Philadelphia 76ers roster that could impress in the 2019 NBA preseason and should be watched closely.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of new faces on the roster heading into this upcoming season. However, during the preseason there are both old and new players that the Sixers coaching staff and fans should keep an eye on. How well these player do could determine what type of role they will have with the franchise this season.

The 76ers have already played their first preseason game against the Guangzhou Long-Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association, so that helped give some perspective about who are players that fans and the coaching staff should pay attention to for the rest of the preseason.

Christ Koumadje

Koumadje was signed to an Exhibit 10 contract and there’s a strong chance he will be with Sixers G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, this season. In the first game this preseason, he had three rebounds and failed to convert his one field goal attempt in three minutes. Despite not projecting to have any type of role with the 76ers this year, he’s still a player to keep an eye on this preseason.

The reason being is because the guy is 7-foot-4, which is one inch taller then Boban Marjanovic who was the the team’s backup center from last season. Height is something that can’t be taught and seeing how well he performs this season could help the Sixers front office figure out if he can develop into a NBA player with time.

If he performs well in the preseason and then does very well with the Blue Coats, then he could end up like Norvel Pelle and get a two-way contract next offseason. Koumadje is a raw prospect, who only averaged 6.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks his senior season of college. However, if he can improve this preseason and with Delaware, he could pay off as a long term project.
