Jimmy Butler
Last season’s most clutch player for the Philadelphia 76ers would have to have been Jimmy Butler. Butler first played for the Bulls before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was acquired from the T-Wolves and the Sixers only gave up three players, none of which were All-Star caliber players for the former All-Star. Last season with the 76ers, he averaged 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
This past offseason, Butler requested a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat. The deal ended up being a four team trade, but Philly came a way with a talented young two-way wing in Josh Richardson. Butler figures to be the defacto star in Miami and Richardson will be an important part of the Sixers tarting five.
Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan Ilyasova is one of two players on this list that has played for the 76ers on two separate occasions. His first came in the 2016-17 season when Colangelo traded Grant to the Thunder for the stretch big man at the beginning of that season. Ilyasova was traded away to the Hawks later that same year. His second stint came a season later when the Hawks waived him and he joined Philly for a playoff run.
In the two stints Ilyasova had with the Sixers, he averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists, all three stats are the highest he’s averaged with any one team. Last season, he joined the Bucks (again) on a three-year deal and figures to play an important role for them off the bench this season. Besides the Bucks, Thunder, Hawks and Sixers, he’s also played for Pistons and Orlando Magic.
