12. JaKarr Sampson

Lucas Johnson

In a season and a half, JaKarr Sampson literally played just about every possible role for the Sixers. Sampson was one of the undrafted projects signed by Hinkie. The forward played with the 76ers G-League affiliate and with Philly. Sampson was a great multi-poisitonal defender. The only reason why his tenure with the Sixers was short was due to his lack of offensive polish.

Sampson only averaged 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds, while converting 23.0 percent o his 3-pointers with the 76ers. His lack of any offensive game has made it hard for him to stick anywhere long-term in the NBA. However, he played hard in Philly, which made him important to “The Process”.

11. Ish Smith

Justin DiVirgilio

Ish Smith was a journeyman point guard by the time he arrived in Philly in 2014-15. That season was Smith’s first stint with the team and he played in 25 games that season. Smith would return the following season to play 50 games for the Sixers after beginning the season on the New Orleans Pelicans.

Smith was one of the few bright spots of The Process that are no longer on the team. In his two separate stints, Smith averaged 12.0 points per game along with 6.1 assists per game in 2014-15 and 14.7 points per game with 7 assists per game in 2015-16.

Smith’s dribble drive game was relentlessly entertaining and his pick-and-roll chemistry with Nerlens Noel was awe inspiring. Smith’s pick-and-roll reminded me what a smoothly run pick-and-roll looked like for the 76ers during his time.
