A new season of Philadelphia 76ers player rankings has begun and in October’s rankings, the players impressed on the defensive end of the ball especially.

The month of October has ended and it’s time to reflect about how the Philadelphia 76ers players performed in that month. The players really impressed on the defensive side of the ball during October, as the team had a 4-0 record for the month. These player rankings did come out a little later than originally planed, but they will usually be coming out at the beginning of each month moving forward.

These rankings are based on total production, type of role on the team and how many games played for the month. If a player miss a significant portion of games in a particular month, that will affect their position in these ranking.

17. Marial Shayok

October Stats: None

Unless multiple injuries occur, it’s unlikely that fans will see Marial Shayok very often this season. The 76ers are deep at the wing position this year and there’s no easy path to find minutes for the rookie. He’s on a two-way contract and had joined the Sixers G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, in their training camp last month.

16. Zhaire Smith

October Stats: None

In a somewhat surprising moving, head coach Brett Brown decided to have Zhaire Smith join the Blue Coats’ training camp along with Shayok. Despite entering his second season, Brown wants to get Smith a lot of playing time this year to help him develop, so having him on the Blue Coats makes sense in that regard. Unless Smith shows major growth early on in the G-league, it’s unlikely fans see him in Philly very often.
