The Philadelphia 76ers fall to the Orlando Magic as they continue to struggle without Joel Embiid.
The Philadelphia 76ers entered the game with buzz surrounding their first game against former number one overall pick, Markelle Fultz. After the tip, the matchup played without much flair as D.J. Augustin stayed on the floor for the entire quarter.
Orlando started the game jumping out to an eight-point lead midway through the first quarter, but Philadelphia responded by locking in on the defensive end finishing the quarter only trailing 31-30.
The second and third quarter followed the status quo as an Aaron Gordon halftime buzzer beating three-pointer tied the game at half before Philadelphia ended the third quarter leading 82-80.
Philadelphia, playing without Joel Embiid, wasn’t able to generate enough offense down the stretch. Orlando went on an 18-6 stretch to close the game out. Philadelphia failed to develop any offense in the fourth quarter leading to more turnovers than made shots.
