Andre Iguodala (aka Iggy) is probably more famous for his run as part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty in this past decade. He won Finals MVP for his defense on LeBron James in the 2015 NBA Championship. Yet, despite his legacy being cemented with the Warriors, Iggy by far had the best production of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Iguodala did it all for Philly during his time with the club. He pushed his abilities to the absolute limited when he was on the Sixers and it resulted in several playoff berths, including two in the early 2010’s.”
Iggy’s tenure with the Sixers begin when he was selected in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft. He came into the 76ers organization at the tail-end of Allen Iverson’s prime and first tenure with Philly.
By the time this last decade began in the 2009-10 season, there’s no doubt that Iggy was the team’s legit go-to star as Jrue Holiday as a rookie and Elton Brand was past his prime as a scorer. Iggy had to be Philly’s go-to star due to the lack of star talent on the roster for the beginning of the 2010’s.
Iggy made his lone All-Star appearance of his career in the 2012-13 season, which ended up being his last season with the Sixers before he was traded the that offseason for Andrew Bynum. During his tenure with the 76ers, Iggy averaged 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals.
