The Philadelphia 76ers franchise point guard started the week with a strong performance and played solid throughout the rest of the week.

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to put together a 2-1 record this past week and Ben Simmons‘ strong play was a big reason for their success. With that in mind, Simmons claims another “Player of the Week” award this season.

In the Sixers lone loss of the week against the Houston Rockets, Simmons shined. He ended with 29 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, four blocks, three turnovers and five fouls, while going 13-20 on field goal attempts and 3-7 from the free throw line. This was Simmons’ third triple-double of the season and arguably one of his best games this year thus far.

Simmons had a solid outing in the win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, one steal, two turnovers and four fouls, while making 50.0 percent of his 12 field goals and 5-6 of his foul shots. He had the best plus/minus score of any player in the game with a plus-18.

In the victory against the Boston Celtics, Simmons was the 76ers second leading scorer. He had 19 points, nine rebound, three assists, one steal, three turnovers and one foul, while converting 9-15 attempts from the floor and 25.0 percent of his four free throws.

Honorable Mention

This almost went to Joel Embiid for playing through a dislocated finger against the Thunder, but the “Honorable Mention” goes to Trey Burke. Burke’s proving to be a viable backup point guard for Philly at the present moment. Two out of three games this past week he scored in double-digits for the Sixers. For the week, he averaged 7.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.7 turnovers and 1.0 foul.

Simmons was aggressive scoring and played well overall, including cutting down on his turnovers. The Philadelphia 76ers point guard averaged 21.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 blocks, 2.7 turnovers and 3.3 fouls this past week.
