Jonah Bolden

By: Lucas Johnson

This has been a rough season for Jonah Bolden. Last year he was a key member of the bench at certain points of the regular season. That hasn’t been the case for this season. He’s been stuck in the G-League for the majority of the year and it doesn’t look like he’ll get a chance to contribute to the Sixers anytime soon.

“He should be dominating in the G-League and unless he gets minutes with the Sixers he should be focusing on improving and dominating in Delaware.”

My New Year’s resolution for Bolden is focus on improving with the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers G-League affiliate.

Despite playing with the Blue Coats last year, Bolden has shown little to no progress with Delaware from his rookie year. In his second season with the Blue Coats, he averaged 12.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.7 turnovers, while making 50.7 percent of his field goal attempts and 35.1 percent from the 3-point line. His points and rebounds are down from a season ago in Delaware, but his shooting percentage is up.

It’s good to see his making a higher percentage of his shots, but he’s lacking a level of aggression he had his rookie year with the Blue Coats. He should be dominating in the G-League and unless he gets minutes with the Sixers he should be focusing on improving and dominating in Delaware.
