One of the positives for the Philadelphia 76ers this week was that their top rookie returned to the rotation after missing several weeks due to injury.
There were several positives from this past week for the Philadelphia 76ers and their rookies. Each first year player played at least two games, but what’s more important is that the team’s best rookie is back in the rotation.

After missing the last several weeks due to injury, Matisse Thybulle has returned to action. However, it seems like it may take a bit for him to find his grove. He failed to score in either of the games he played in. He’s also struggling on defense as he only recorded one steal and block verses five fouls in the past two games. Hopefully, it won’t take him too long figure things out on both sides of the ball.

Marial Shayok didn’t have the best week with the Sixers G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Against the Westchester Knicks, he had 25 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and seven turnovers. He only recorded 14 points and six rebounds against the Grand Rapids Drive. These types of performances won’t help him get a call up to the 76ers roster.
Undrafted
Norvel Pelle recorded playing time with both Philly and Delaware this past week. He had 10 points and three rebounds in the one game he played with the Blue Coats. In the two games he played with the Sixers, he averaged 5.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. With Pelle’s two-way contract almost up, the 76ers will have a tough choice retaining him or not moving forward.
It’s great that all three of the Philadelphia 76ers rookie are healthy now, but now the franchise has to decide what they will do with Pelle moving forward.
