2. Furkan Korkmaz

At the beginning of the season, Furkan Korkmaz seemed primed to make a home on the Sixers’ bench for a third consecutive season, as his shooting was abysmal. However, Korkmaz has become one of the team’s very best shooters and, in the words of Brett Brown, a “bomber.”

Although his defense is questionable at best, Korkmaz’s shooting is what makes him untouchable. He is the only player on the team who will, without hesitation, continue to shoot three-pointers. Korkmaz can be frustrating to watch, especially when he’s having an off night, but his continued willingness to shoot is vital for a team that ranks near the bottom of the NBA in three-point attempts per game. Unless the Sixes would receive a like player in return for Korkmaz, the Turkish sharpshooter should continue to lace up for the team.

Undoubtedly, Furkan Korkmaz has his flaws. He frequently is targeted on defense by opposing teams and often takes errant shots. But, it is those shots that make him so valuable. The Sixers have a shooting problem, and Korkmaz is the only player who is willing to fix it. He will take any three-point shot he can because it is what the Sixers need of him.
