Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid finally gets signature shoe
The Philadelphia 76ers franchise big man will be joining a special group of players and will be able to build his brand as an individual in a unique way.
Sadly, All-Star big man Joel Embiid is nursing his injured finger, but there is some positive news regarding the Philadelphia 76ers big man’s feet. Well to be more specific, what he will be wearing on his feet. According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, Embiid will be getting his on signature shoe later this year during the fall.
Embiid is currently in a five-year deal with Under Armour and the shoe will of course be coming from them. The only other current player that has signature shoe out with Under Armour is Stephen Curry.
Embiid joins Curry and 15 other active NBA player that have a signature shoe. This is impressive to say the least and Embiid had this to say about getting his own signature shoe.
"‘”As a kid, I never could have dreamed of being in this situation with my own signature shoe,…The process has been incredible with the work that’s been put in. Not a lot of guys in my profession get this opportunity, and I’m truly grateful for it.”‘"

The Sixers big man’s humble reaction shows just how appreciative he truly. By arguably being the best center in the NBA, Embiid has beyond earned his own signature shoe. He’s been larger than life on and off the court with his play and personality.
There’s good news and bad new regarding this shoe. There’s limited ways to view the design of this shoe currently. However, there’s a chance fans could see him wearing them this postseason, also below is a description of the shoe’s design.

It seems appropriate for Embiid to recognize his African origins as a native of Cameroon. The illustration of an erupting volcano also makes sense from the stand point that he’s as powerful as one inside the paint.
