Speaking of the center that got more minutes ahead of O’Quinn, enter in Norvel Pelle. The 26-year-old rookie played well for Philly in limited minutes during December. Despite being on a two-way contract, he proved he can be a solid rebounder and defender when he was on the court for the Sixers. He made a strong case for an NBA contract that month as well.
11. Raul Neto
December Stats: GP 12| MINS 11.1| FG% 47.5| 3P% 44.4| FT% 75.0| TRB 1.0| AST 1.4| STL 0.6| PF 0.9| TOV 0.8| PTS 4.1
Previous ranking: 10th
Raul Neto started December as the primary backup point guard for the 76ers. However, he slowly lost that job as the month progressed. It wasn’t so much that he wasn’t playing well, but he couldn’t provide Philly the offensive spark that they desperately needed off the bench. He still saw minutes throughout the month, but they greatly diminished by the end of 2019.
10. Matisse Thybulle
December Stats: GP 11| MINS 22.0| FG% 50.0| 3P% 54.5| FT% 57.1| TRB 1.1| AST 1.7| BKL 0.8| STL 1.5| PF 1.5| TOV 0.7| PTS 6.4
Previous ranking: 9th
If it wasn’t for the fact that Matisse Thybulle got injured, he probably would have been much higher in these rankings. When he was healthy, he was arguably having the best month of his young career. His offensive game had somewhat stabilized and his was still making a major impact on the defensive end as well. Thybulle will be an important part of the Sixers success for the rest of the season if he continues to play like he did December.
