Target: Small forward

This trade is probably the most complex of three proposed deals in this article. It involves three players and a draft pick. However, it’s still not that complicated of a trade and should be easy enough for the 76ers to execute if they decide to go that route.

Personality wise, Jae Crowder would fit into the Sixers and the city of Philadelphia’s blue collar mentality. While he’s primarily a small forward, he can defend both forward position. If acquired by Philly, he’d probably play the power forward spot.

Crowder is a physical and pesky defender that can get hot from deep on occasion. This season, he’s averaging 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals, while shooting 30.3 percent from behind the arc. For his career, he’s a 33.5 percent shooting from deep.

While Crowder isn’t a ace from deep, he’d be another good defender to add the 76ers bench and there’s times he can get out from the 3-point line. His defense alone makes him an upgrade over Scott, which should make the Sixers want to do this trade.

However, the Grizzlies would want more for their starting small forward. Adding Shake Milton and a second round pick seems more than a fair price. Trading Crowder would also allow Memphis to play some of their younger forwards like Josh Jackson and Kyle Anderson more.

Adding Crowder won’t help with Philly’s 3-point shooting woes, but it would strength their already impressive defense. For that reason alone, the 76ers front office should consider making a trade for veteran.
