Target: Shooting guard
This hypothetical trade makes the most sense for both sides. The Sixers and the Golden State Warriors get players that they need for their respective futures in this proposed deal.
Alec Burks would be a major upgrade offensively over any player on the 76ers bench currently. This season, he’s averaging career highs 15.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assist per game, while converting 35.7 percent on 3-pointers. For his career, he has averaged 10.1 points on 35.6 percent shooting from deep.

It’s not surprising that Burks ended up on this article. AJ Iezzi of The Sixer Sense, wrote about how Burks should be a target of the 76ers based on his scoring ability. He wasn’t wrong, the veteran is a solid scoring option off the bench, who isn’t a major liability on defense either. He would be an ideal sixth man for Philly to enter the postseason with. Giving up Milton and a second round pick is worth it.
The Warriors are he worst team in the Western Conference and should be focusing on the draft with both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson recovering form injuries. Adding a young cheap prospect in Milton for the future and a second round pick makes sense for Golden State. Subtracting Burks from the team would only help their chances of getting a top pick in this upcoming draft.
Out of the three players on this list of hypothetical trades, acquiring Burks makes the most sense for the Philadelphia 76ers. It should be noted that their are upsides in pursuing trades for Carroll or Crowder. Adding any of these players shouldn’t take much effort from the Sixers, as each proposed deal are minor transactions. Any of these minor moves could help the 76ers in the playoffs.
