Not only did point guard Ben Simmons play well for the Philadelphia 76ers this past week, but he took control of the games like very few times before.

It was another week without Joel Embiid, which in turned allowed star point guard Ben Simmons to shine even more. While Simmons’ production has been good the last several weeks, this past week really felt like he took control of Philadelphia 76ers games. This has earned him yet another “Player of the Week” award.

In the double-digit victory against the Chicago Bulls, Simmons had a double-double. He finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two turners and two fouls, while going 10-17 from the field. He tied with Al Horford for being the 76ers second highest scorer in the game.

For only the second time this seaosn, Simmons didn’t have a single turnover in the close victory against the New York Knicks. He had 21 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one foul, while converting 9-15 shots and 3-8 free throw attempts. He lead all scorers in this win for Philly.

This triple-double was his fourth on the season and 26th of his career.

The loss to the Toronto Raptors was easily Simmons’ worst game of the week. He ended the game with 17 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, eight turnovers and three fouls, while shooting a solid 5-7 from the floor and 7-9 from the free throw line. The turnovers in this game almost lost him this “Player of the Week” honor.

Honorable Mention

Simmons’ impressive week was the only thing that stopped Furkan Korkmaz from getting the “Player of the Week” award. With that said, he’s more than worthy of the “Honorable Mention”. He scored a career high 24 points against the Bulls. On the week, he averaged 17.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 blocks, 0.5 turnovers and 2.8 fouls.
