With the Philadelphia 76ers front office being reluctant to give up one of its key players during the trade deadline, a big move was not expected.
Since they have been struggling as of late, there is no better time than now for new faces to pop up in the Philadelphia 76ers locker room.
They got that change on Feb. 6, as they basically stole Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for three second-round draft picks. To think that they didn’t have to give away a player is a small victory that I’m sure the Sixers will take.
Not only can Robinson and Burks score efficiently, but they can also space the floor with their long distance shooting, something that the Sixers desperately need. The Philadelphia 76ers sit 21st overall as a team in three-point percentage and with Robinson and Burks inserted, one can expect for that number to rise.
Aside from the deep ball, the Sixers bench has been struggling to get buckets. They currently sit at 28th overall in bench points, something that Robinson and Burks will also likely help, assuming that they both don’t start.
Robinson is averaging 13 points and just under five rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the field, while Burks is averaging 16 points and just under five rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the field.
To make room for both players, the Philadelphia 76ers let loose both James Ennis and Trey Burke, both who had little to no impact offensively.
If you are on social media then I’m sure you often see Sixer fans calling for Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons or both to get traded, however with yet another trade deadline behind us and both still on the roster, I am sure that this steal of a move is something that Sixers fans can get behind.
