Bringing in Embiid doesn’t make much sense from the Heat’s side as well. Yes, it would make Butler happy, but would it be worth their long-term future? The answer simply is no.

More from The Sixer Sense

Probably the biggest reason why the Heat should think twice about trying to trade for Embiid is the fact that they already have an All-Star center in Bam Adebayo. The third-year big man is averaging 16.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

He’s certainly no Embiid, but he’s still a good enough center to build around for the future. He’s not someone who the Sixers would want in a potential deal because he’s unable to pace the floor for Simmons. The Heat could trade him for future draft assets that they could send to Philly, but that means they would be sacrificing most of their young core to add Embiid.

Another thing to consider is that the Heat take a player’s physical fitness very seriously, just ask James Johnson (subscription required to article). One of the biggest knocks on Embiid has been his physical fitness, so there could be conflict in that regard if the Heat land the All-Star center.

It seems very unlikely that Embiid would request the Philadelphia 76ers to trade him anytime soon. Embiid’s social media antics shouldn’t be anything to worry about and even on the off chance he was serious, it’s very unlikely that a deal would get done between the Sixers and Heat.
