In the midst of a solid sophomore campaign, Robert Woodard has conjured some first-round buzz. He is a bit of an uncertainty, but at 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, the physical tools are present. The Raptors have a strong developmental system and the personnel in place to bring Woodard along slowly.

Toronto has done extremely well with rookies of late, drafted or undrafted. Pascal Siakam and Terrence Davis are shining examples of the front office’s smart decision-making. Woodard would find himself in good company.

At his core, Woodard very much occupies the 3-and-D niche. His skill set is limited beyond that classification, but someone who can hit open threes, defend multiple positions, and play hard normally has a chance in the NBA.
