The Hawks find themselves in a tough position — Clint Capela removes the need for a big, and the best prospects on the board occupy a space similar to Trae Young. Still, Atlanta should take the best available talent, which happens to be Killian Hayes.

At 6-foot-5, 192 pounds, Hayes has enough size to share the backcourt with Young. He’s a solid defender, and his I.Q. as a playmaker should create little issue next to an equally brilliant basketball mind. Hayes’ improvement as a shooter this season further cements his potential next to Young.

When executed correctly, multi-guard lineups can work wonders in the NBA. Atlanta now has a genuine defensive backstop in Capela, and Hayes is arguably the most talented offensive player left on the board.
