1. R.J. Hampton

Hampton was the first major 2020 prospect to forgo college basketball in favor of Australia’s NBL. The decision was largely inconsequential with regard to his position on draft boards — some have him top-10, while others have him hovering just outside the lottery.

The Sixers would almost certainly need to move assets in order to obtain Hampton. In a point guard-heavy class, maybe one falls to the early 20s, where the Sixers are expected to pick. If Elton Brand decides to condense his assets, however, Hampton is a prime target. Maybe, the prime target.

He dealt with injuries in Australia this season, but Hampton’s time on the court, while not great by any stretch, was enough to affirm his status as a prospect. He’s a quick-twitch athlete who fits the theme of underlying versatility on this list. He can switch comfortably between one and two, while his ability and willingness to work off-ball projects nicely next to Ben Simmons in a hypothetical pairing.

He’s not the most NBA ready prospect on this list, which could dissuade the Sixers, but he’s arguably the highest-ceiling prospect. He has real upside as a 6-foot-5 playmaker who can score in a variety of ways. He’s worth a long look from the Sixers.
