Why everyone does this trade

That being said, this trade works from a money standpoint. From a compensation perspective, it makes sense as well. For the Sixers they get off the Al Horford contract and a legit third superstar that can create off the dribble and stretch for the floor for Simmons and Joel Embiid. The one negative is that this trade would drain the 76ers draft assets moving

The Kings get Horford who they coveted in free agency last summer, plus a young shooting guard in Zhaire Smith, along with two high second round picks (projected to be 34th and 36th picks) in this upcoming NBA draft (per Tankathon). There has been a tug-a-war of sorts between Hield and Bogdanovic because both are starting level shooting guards so trading Hield makes it easy for the Kings to fully commit to Bogdanovic moving forward.

The Suns get Hield how his an elite sharpshooter at the shooting guard position. Hield averaged 19.8 points on 39.5 percent shooting from deep. Hield isn’t on Booker’s star level but he’s not a bad consolation prize and is on a team-friendly deal. On top of that, they get three future unprotected first round picks which seems to be more than fair compensation.

Brand should call Jones and Kings general manager Vlade Divac once the offseason begins and see if he can pull off a trade to land Booker with the Philadelphia 76ers.
