The Timberwolves pound the wing again, this time adding another strong fit. Saddiq Bey is a formidable athlete at 6-foot-8, and he profiles as such on defense. Bey can defend all over the floor, something Minnesota should greatly value.
While not the most well-rounded offensive talent, Bey is a 40+ percent shooter from deep. He should thrive as a standstill shooter next to Towns and Russell, which could help offset Isaac Okoro’s lack of spacing earlier in the draft.
Bey has all the tools of a successful NBA role player. He can contribute to winning immediately, and he’s the type of player who, next to Okoro, Jarrett Culver, and Michael Beasley, could establish a solid group of wings in Minnesota.
