The Celtics have three first-round picks and have lamented the excessive youth on the roster. There’s no guarantee Danny Ainge holds onto this pick. In this instance, he dips into the international waters, but Bolmaro is someone who could, given his mid-first round projection, come over immediately.
If so, the Celtics get a crafty wing who fits the profile of who Boston has traditionally valued. While there are real concerns about Bolmaro given his limited role in Barcelona and his shaky three-point shooting, his skill level at 6-foot-8 has natural appeal.
Bolmaro has real flashes of playmaking on the wing. He can create in pick-and-rolls, both for himself and others, and he has the size to potentially fill a couple different roles on defense. The Celtics get a relatively strong value in the mid-first round, plus the outside chance Bolmaro is a stash they can wait on.
