NBA Draft 2020: Mock Draft 2.0
The Knicks have a potential hole at center beyond Mitchell Robinson. In this instance, they use their second first-round pick to resolve the issue. Daniel Oturu emerged as one of college basketball’s top centers this season, and he did so on both sides of the ball.
At 6-foot-10, Oturu has the size and length to hold up as a rim protector at the next level. He rejected over two shots per game this past season, and he’s a fairly mobile athlete for his size. On the other end, Oturu is not only an efficient finisher, but he’s a burgeoning three-point threat. A lot of boxes are checked.
Oturu will need to improve his basketball I.Q. in New York. He’s currently a bit of a turnover machine, and his instincts as a passer are, frankly, not good. The Knicks are in the middle of a rebuild and can bank on Oturu’s obvious potential.
