Christ Koumadje

Let’s not forgot about the surprisingly impressive season that Christ Koumadje has had during his rookie campaign with the Blue Coats. At 7-foot-4, Koumadje showed potential while in college and on the Sixers summer league roster (stats per RealGM). He was even invited to the 76ers training camp with the intention of him joining Delaware’s roster.

I’ve already written about Koumadje’s growth during the season. However, in a hindsight review it all, he was just beyond impressive. He earned the Blue Coats’ starting center job during the season and was able to make a legit impact.

This year, he averaged 11.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.2 blocks, and 3.3 fouls in 26.4 minutes per game. He also shot 63.5 percent from the field. Koumadje led the G-League in total blocks on the season, while also being sixth in total rebounds. He was also third in Defensive Rating per 100 possession and ninth in Defensive Win Shares.

Koumadje has a strong case to make the G-League’s All-Defensive team as Pelle did for the Blue Coats last year. Probably the most impressive part of Koumadje’s game is the fact that he’s such a good defender and able to stay out of foul trouble for the most part.

Out of all the players on this list, Koumadje deserves a two-way contact the most. With that being said, it’s still unclear what type of role he could fill on the NBA level. It’s very much doubtful that he could become a starting level player, but he could become a primary back up or end of the bench type of player depending on a team’s situation.

Beyond just the players that have a connection to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Blue Coats have a handful of impressive prospects on their roster.
