Alec Burks

Alec Burks was the big midseason acquisition made by Sixers general manager Elton Brand this year. The veteran guard was experiencing a career year on the rebuilding Golden State Warriors before he, along with Glenn Robinson III, were acquired by the 76ers sending Golden State three future second round picks.

More from The Sixer Sense

With the Warriors, Burks averaged 16.1 points on 37.5 percent shooting from deep and with Philly, he was averaging 10.7 points on 32.7 percent from the behind the arc. Part of the reason for Burks drop off with the Sixers was his transition to the bench, but he was still productive despite his decreased role.

Another reason for is dropoff in his has to do with Brown using Burks as a backup point guard. There’s no denying Burks is a solid playmaker at the shooting guard, being a fulltime point guard isn’t the best thing for the veteran.

There’s a good chance that the Sixers would love to have Burks shot-creating skills and playmaking back for next season. However, based on the production he had with the Warriors, he’d probably going to get an offer from another team that can pay him more than the 76ers can.

dark. Next. Can Marial Shayok become the next Shake Milton?

Every offseason there some level of roster turnover in the NBA and there’s a good chance that the Philadelphia 76ers will be without these three players whenever next season begins.
