“Big 3”

This one’s pretty obvious, but in the event that the Philadelphia 76ers did draft Tatum over Fultz, then Tatum, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid would have created a legit “Big 3”. Fultz was supposed to make up a “Big 3” with Simmons and Embiid before unusual shoulder injury. However, Tatum can be even better than what Fultz was projected to be.

In the NBA, if a team wants to win a title,  then they usually need a superstar wing. Tatum is showing to be just that. He can create his own shot off the dribble, cut off the ball, spot-up anywhere, and has been developing enough ball-handling skills to where he could have run the pick-and-roll with either Embiid or Simmons.

Granted, he’s not a great playmaker like Simmons or even Fultz, but he has enough skills to make him the perfect perimeter complement to the 76ers’ two stars. He would be the guy in the half-court that can get his own shot over basically anyone, Embiid is the dominate post presence and Simmons is the elite playmaker who’s extremely dangerous in a fastbreak situation.

Tatum probably wouldn’t have solved all of the spacing issues with Simmons and Embiid, but he could have done a lot to help them correct that issue. Surrounded by the correct complementary parts, that trio wouldn’t have any spacing issues and would have the potential to win multiple NBA titles.
