21st pick

The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Daequan Cook with the 21st pick, but he, along with cash and a 2009 second round pick was traded for Jason Smith, the 20th pick. Cook was a streaky 3-point shooter that lasted six seasons in the NBA. Smith became a journeyman center in the NBA and last played in 2018-19 season.

There are a couple of good choices here, but Wilson Chandler is the right choice here. Arron Afflalo, Aaron Brooks, and Tiago Splitter might have been solid choices at this spot, but none had the longevity of their career that Chandler has had.

Despite being past his prime when he played with Philly last season, Chandler was still a contributor for a contending team. He’s currently on the Brooklyn Nets coming off the bench. He’s also played for the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, and Los Angeles Clippers.

During his prime, Wilson was a versatile forward both offensively and defensively. He was a solid 3-point shooter whose shot a career average 34.1 percent. In the 12 seasons he’s played in he’s scored double-digits in eight of those seasons. His career scoring averages is at 12.5 per game and has a career rebounding average of 5.3 per game.
