5. Landry Shamet

Despite only playing half of a season on the Philadelphia 76ers, Landry Shamet still claims the fifth spot in these rankings. He had modest production, but what he did for the team, as well as, his long-term outlook while he was a member of the Sixers has earned him this top-five spot.

“It felt like Shamet’s tenure in Philly was too short.”

Before being included in the Tobias Harris trade, Shamet was looking like a steal at the 26th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. For the Sixers, the 6-foot-4 combo guard was averaging 8.3 points and 1.1 assists, while converting 40.4 percent of his 4.5 3-point attempts.

Shamet was a legit 3-point threat as a rookie for a contender. He was able to do a lot of the same things former 76ers veteran sharpshooter J.J. Redick could do and was viewed as Reddick’s heir. He was growing into an elite off the ball threat with his movement and ability to spot off just about anywhere.

It felt like Shamet’s tenure in Philly was too short. However, without including him in the deal to acquire Harris, that trade probably doesn’t get done with the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite only having half of a season as a member of the 76ers, he’s more than deserving of the fifth spot.
