13. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
I personally was a fan of Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (aka TLC) when the Philadelphia 76ers selected him with the 24th pick of the 2016 NBA Draft. Standing at 6-foot-7 and with a wingspan of 7-foot-2, he’d appeared to have the potential to be a very good defender in the NBA.
His first season was promising on a rebuilding Sixers team. He averaged 6.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 17.2 minutes, while converting 40.2 percent of his field goals and 31.1 percent shooting from the 3-point arc.
He saw a regression in his second season in Philly. His averages dipped to 15.5 minutes, 5.8 points and 1.9 rebounds, while shooting 37.5 percent from the floor and 33.5 from downtown. Outside of his 3-point shooting, TLC didn’t see any improvement from his first to second season.
If the Sixers didn’t shift from a developing team into a contender during the 2018 offseason, maybe TLC would have been given more of a chance to develop in Philly. However, he along with Justin Anderson were packaged together in a trade to get veteran stretch big Mike Muscala.
Since then TLC bounced around since being traded from the Sixers. He played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls last season and this year he seemed to have found a steady role with the Brooklyn Nets.
