16. SADDIQ BEY, Wing, Villanova

At 6-foot-8, Saddiq Bey is a uniquely versatile defender who slides perfectly into the NBA’s coveted 3-and-D mold. Bey was a standout for Villanova, transforming from afterthought to potential lottery pick. He has the added bonus of playing for a program with a commendable NBA track record.

Bey is one of the better shooters in this draft. He’s not a super versatile shooter — he won’t fly around screens and hit off-kilter shots — but he’s a deadeye spot-up shooter, which is plenty useful. He will have no problem plugging into a system and helping to space the floor.

On defense, Bey makes up for limited athleticism with a great frame. He’s long, strong, and is quick enough to defend up and down the positional chart. He’s not explosive and he’s probably not a full-time point guard defender, but he can switch screens, body up bigger forwards, and make his presence felt in a variety of ways.
