The Kings’ roster is a mess of uncertainty. Sacramento doesn’t need a center next to Marvin Bagley III and Richaun Holmes, but many scouts view James Wiseman as the No. 1 prospect, and it’s not likely he falls outside the top-five on draft night.

Wiseman is an imposing physical specimen at 7-foot-1. He’s not the most polished defender, but plus athleticism and a 7-foot-6 wingspan give him solid projections at the next level. He should capably anchor a defense inside, and he’s mobile enough to survive switches on the perimeter.

His stature alone should guarantee Wiseman plenty of easy baskets inside. He has soft touch, a nice array of post moves, and the girth to overpower some of the league’s better interior defenders. The jumper is a work in progress, and Wiseman needs to grow as a decision-maker, but he has the tools of a traditional top-five pick.
