The No. 2 prospect on my big board, Killian Hayes is the best player available. The Pistons are at the beginning of a long rebuild, and point guard is perhaps the NBA’s most important position, even now. Hayes is a dynamic playmaker and someone who can help lead the next era of Detroit basketball.

At 6-foot-5, Hayes possesses great tools for the position. He’s shifty with the ball in his hands, he can finish creatively inside, and he has a James Harden-esque step-back at his disposal. A guard with Hayes’ eye for playmaking who can adeptly create his own shot should have no trouble providing positive value in the NBA.

Hayes is arguably the best passer in the draft behind the aforementioned LaMelo Ball. He’s dynamite in the pick-and-roll, and extensively creative in live-dribble situations. Most mocks project him lower than this, but teams should come around by the draft.
