Sixers news: Ben Simmons has been training with Dwyane Wade during hiatus

Sixers guard Ben Simmons could learn from Dwyane Wade
As the Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons prepare to head to Walt Disney World in Orlando in order to complete their 2020 NBA season, they have a lot to prove. Frankly, Simmons has put a ton of the onus on himself with recent comments about him being ready to shoot 3-pointers.
Following those comments, he also posted pictures of his new, bulky build. Simmons has clearly added some muscle and looks ready to rock.
Oh, and he’s been training with one of the NBA’s recently retired legends in Los Angeles, as well.
Dwyane Wade and Sixers guard Ben Simmons have been training together
Plenty of players have been working out together during the league’s suspension, presumably with healthy precautions in mind. Ben Simmons and Dwyane Wade have been working out in Los Angeles.
Simmons and the new-look Wade got together at least once to work out as Simmons has been grinding to stay in shape and stay ready.
Plenty of NBA players have lacked the requisite equipment and facilities to stay ready.
Those in apartment buildings have been locked out of their normally accessible weight rooms, and practice facilities have been closed until just recently, save for those (like Simmons, actually) who need to enter in order to get treatment on injuries that existed prior to the pandemic suspension.
For Simmons to have not only the facilities to gain so much muscle but also have a two-time title-winning NBA legend at his disposal, that’s a huge advantage going into Orlando.
Frankly, the Sixers might need that advantage. Without home court, the biggest factor in their success so far this year, the Sixers surely could use additional advantages.
Recent comments from Joel Embiid leave a lot of room for hype regarding the Sixers chances as well, but there’s reason to be skeptical. The Sixers have a tough road ahead of them in the Eastern Conference, given that they currently sit at sixth in the Conference Standings and only have eight games left to establish seeding.
Guidance from a postseason shot-maker like Wade will help. Unfortunately, Wade has never been known for his 3-point shooting, so Simmons probably didn’t get that sort of help from him.
