Ever think about which Disney character each Philadelphia 76ers player would be compared to according to characteristics? Yeah, never have I, but let’s try it out anyway.

We could all use some light-hearted fun right now, and what better way than to compare some of your favorite Philadelphia 76ers to animated Disney movie characters. With the revamped NBA season on the horizon and taking place in the most magical place on earth, Disney World, why not have a little bit fun before we get too caught up in basketball again.

Joel Embiid: Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph

Ralph isn’t a Disney classic, but he’s a new age character that fits Joel Embiid pretty well. Sure Ralph doesn’t necessarily have the charisma and humor that Embiid has, but in other ways, they’re pretty similar.

Ralph is seen as the bad guy, breaking and destroying things in the video game world, but really he is a sweet and caring guy. I see this as Jo is seen, by other teams, as this monstrous dude, whether that be because he’s destructive physically on the court or because he physically wrecks himself (sigh…). But really he is a gentle and generous person and teammate. Did you not see what he did for the employees of the Sixers and healthcare workers?

Ben Simmons: The Beast from The Beauty and the Beast

From an outsider’s perspective, one may see Ben Simmons as just a pretty boy from Australia who dated Kendall Jenner. There’s a lot more to him than just what’s on the outside. He holds a lot of passion for basketball and making a difference pertaining to things that matter to him. The media makes him out to be an emotionless jock. He has had to live with that persona for a while now.

Furkan Korkmaz: Nemo from Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is a classic movie about a young boy that is lost but is found by his loving father. Yes, I see that that description doesn’t fit Furkan’s scenario too well. What I’m trying to say is that, like Nemo, Furkan was lost for a while. He didn’t really know where he belonged on the team. He was had a rough time developing his role and showing his true talent.

Again, like Nemo, he was found. His teammates and Brett Brown helped him to find his true strengths. He searched for a while to find a way to bring out his skills on the court. Earlier this season we’ve witnessed him do this.

Tobias Harris: Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story

This one may seem a little odd, but when you think about Tobias Harris and Buzz’s characteristics you see that they’re pretty similar. Buzz stands up for what he believes in and is loyal to his friends. I think that perfectly describes Tobias as well. As we’ve seen lately, Tobi will stand up for what is right and will fight for what is important to him.

Shake Milton: Dash from The Incredibles 2

Much like Furkan, Shake Milton had to find his way on the court with the team. Dash in The Incredibles 2 felt helpless for a while because he couldn’t help his family fight crime. But eventually, he worked with his siblings and trusted in himself to realize he had an important role in helping his family. Shake has finally found his place on the team. He developed his role and figured out how he could be a better team player.

Matisse Thybulle:  Stitch from Lilo and Stitch

This one is sort of self-explanatory. Stich and Matisse Thybulle are both pretty curious and entertaining. Stitch is entertaining in that he’s always up to something and Matisse seeks out the opportunity make others laugh and smile. Also, they’re both insanely energetic. We’ve seen the Tik Tok star run around the court like the Energizer Bunny.

Josh Richardson: Flik from A Bug’s Life

Not going to lie, I had a bit of trouble comparing Josh Richardson to a Disney character. Flik has some pretty similar characteristics. For one, they both have stood up and tried to take control of situations for the good of their community or team. Flik fought to help his colony from getting overrun by the grasshoppers. Josh wants best for his team and for the Philly fans. Back in February, he called the players-only meeting to bring accountability to his teammates.

Mike Scott: Tigger from Winnie the Pooh

When I was thinking of characters that just don’t care at all what others think, I instantly thought of the energetic, bouncy, and daring tiger that brought liveliness to the Hundred Acre Woods. Tigger, much like Mike Scott, does his own thing with little care in the world about what others think of him.

Next. The Sixers as The Avengers. dark
