13. AARON NESMITH / WING / VANDERBILT
Aaron Nesmith only played 14 games this season due to a foot injury, which is an unavoidable concern. In those 14 games, however, he shot over 52 percent (!!!) from deep on a healthy volume. He’s a lights-out shooter, and as I’ve stated multiple times in this article, a rock-solid jump is typically a one-way ticket to effective NBA basketball.
Shooting versatility alone should ensure Nesmith a role at the next level. He’s comfortable curling around screens, hitting off-balance shots, and doing his darnedest to lose defenders on the move. He can also create his own shots occasionally, with a nice step-back in his arsenal.
Nesmith won’t do a ton on-ball. He can attack closeouts, which is handy given the attention he commands as a shooter, but he’s not an advanced playmaker. Beyond shooting — which again, is enough value to earn him a lottery grade — it’s fairly mundane. But man, can he shoot the basketball.
