8. ISAAC OKORO / WING / AUBURN
Isaac Okoro has earned the label of best wing defender in the 2020 class. He’s a bouncy 6-foot-6 athlete with a 6-foot-9 wingspan. He locks all doors and windows at the point of attack, and he’s equally skilled at bursting into passing lanes and forcing turnovers. He plays hard, he’s all over the place, and he should have no issue translating his versatility to the next level.
For Okoro, his defensive talent alone is deserving of top-10 recognition. But he’s also a solid playmaker on offense, making quick decisions with the ball and filling his role effectively. He’s not much of a shooter — a glaring hole — but as someone who understands his limitations, Okoro is often effective.
He’s not the most exciting talent, but Okoro is a hardcore winner who should provide enough two-way value to live up to his hype. In the right situation, his lack of shooting isn’t a major deal-breaker due to his well-rounded skill set. His defense could totally revamp a middling team in the middle of a rebuild.
