30. CASSIUS STANLEY / WING / DUKE
It’s not hard to picture Cassius Stanley grinding his way to a rotation spot in the NBA. He’s the consummate glue guy — a high-powered athlete who competes on defense and does the little things on offense. He’s not the most remarkably skilled wing, but he tends to put his imprint on a game.
Stanley is quietly one of the best athletes on the board. He hasn’t gotten the same air as Josh Green or even the aforementioned Woodard in draft circles, but Stanley is a regular highlight machine when afforded the opportunities. He can finish emphatically in traffic, and he’s a treat to watch in the open court.
Though his three-point shot needs work, Stanley managed to hit open jumpers at Duke. He’s unselfish as a passer and helps the offense run smoothly, playing mostly unselfish basketball. Stanley will need to prove he can space the floor, and he’s not one to create his own shots, but the athleticism and the base tool kit is enough to keep teams invested.
