29. IMMANUEL QUICKLEY / GUARD / KENTUCKY
The rare blue-blood, high-level recruit who simply doesn’t get enough attention. Immanuel Quickley put together a strong sophomore campaign in Lexington and he figures to get some early second-round attention, even if he doesn’t quite reach this high on most big boards.
Prospects who have easily marketable and NBA-ready skills are often underrated. Quickley is a proven shooter who can fly around screens, function effectively off-ball, and hit large quantities of shots. The NBA values that. He’s also an atypically long guard — 6-foot-3, but with a 6-foot-10 wingspan — and he’s lightning quick on his feet. There’s a lot to like.
As a secondary creator and floor-spacer, Quickley should fit on just about any team at the next level. He catches flack for not being a “true point guard,” but given his length, it’s not difficult to pair Quickly with another ball-handler without sacrificing a ton on defense. He’s more than good enough as a two-guard.
