Fit with the Sixers

It would certainly be nice to have an actual Philadelphian on the Philadelphia 76ers. The last one was Gerald Henderson Jr. in 2017. Of course, for 30 minutes last year Villanova’s Mikal Bridges was a Sixer, so maybe the organization owes fans a local guy.

Stevens could certainly play a role as a reserve power forward. He does not have (except for shooting) a glaring weakness in his game and is known as a good character guy.  He could be a 14th/15th player on the roster and if anything happens to Mike Scott, or Al Horford needs a rest for a game or two, Stevens could be plugged in and not hurt the team.

Stevens playing with the Blue Coats in the G-League could also be possibility, where he could work on his perimeter game.

His ability to draw fouls on offense will be a plus, as NBA players are always reaching in or trying for a block.

Since he is 23, Stevens is no wide-eyed kid, which will help on a team looking to win titles now, not develop youngsters.

Where Stevens ends up will be interesting storyline for Philly and Penn State basketball fans to observe. Last Word on Basketball has him as a mid-second round pick, NetsWire thinks he could be taken by the Brooklyn Nets at No. 55 in the draft, while Peachtree Hoops thinks a two-way contract would be a good goal for Stevens to achieve.
