The 76ers were handed a tough loss versus the Indiana Pacers in Friday night. Spike Eskin joins the podcast to revisit the game and how the Sixers can grow from the rocky start.

The Sixer Sense Podcast this week presents a special guest from one of the most popular basketball podcasts in the country. Spike Eskin stops by to chat with Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline. The director of sports radio 94 WIP offers insight into the Sixers’ first seeding game inside the NBA’s Disney bubble.

They jump right into the analysis of a highly anticipated first game since the coronavirus shut down the NBA. Spike gives his thoughts on the revamped starting lineup as Shake Milton had one of the rockiest starts in recent memory for the Sixers. They discuss his ineffectiveness at the point guard position and how the heated argument with Joel Embiid was as untimely as it was unfortunate.

They talk about bright spots, though there weren’t many. One of them being Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris’ productivity. They cover the bench’s production and how Raul Neto had to come in and settle the team while Milton had to regather himself after getting into foul trouble and the tense moment with Embiid.

The topic of whether or not fans should be worried is brought up. They also explore the amount of blame Brett Brown deserves for the loss and how he was unable to adjust to the barrage of buckets scored by T.J. Warren.

After the game analysis, Lucas and Chris inquire about Spike’s journey into sports radio. He explains how it all began with his college days, and meandered from rock music to the sports world, leading him back to his hometown of Philadelphia. As is the case with the Rights to Ricky Sanchez Podcast, Spike lends his observations on life experiences with the same wit and sense of humor he delivers with Mike Levin.

Before he leaves the pod,  Spike  is also asked about his historic interview with Joel Embiid, after waiting years for the opportunity to chat face-to-face with a Sixers All-Star center. Toward the end, they have  fun with some strange scenarios to see which options Spike would select given two choices.
