Furkan Korkmaz would certainly open up the floor Embiid with his 3-point shooting. This season, Korkmaz is shooting 39.5 percent on 3-pointers and is averaging 9.7 points a game. However, he’s not a good defender so he could be a target of opposing offenses if he’s playing big minutes. While overall he’s a solid shooter, there’s been times when he’s been cold from the arc as well.
Sixers stater replacement for Ben Simmons: Glenn Robinson III
Glenn Robinson III has missed several games with an injury, but he does present a happy medium between what Thybulle and Korkmaz bring to the table. He’s a solid 3-point shooter for the most part and isn’t a bad defender either. He’s not exceptional in either area but he’s solid enough to be the team’s fifth starter.
If Brown likes the three-man bench rotation of Horford, Korkmaz, and Thybulle, then Robinson would be the easy choice. Starting Robinson makes the most sense to me because not only does it keep the bench rotation the same in case Simmons can return this year, but Robinson is a low usage starter and shouldn’t disrupt what the rest of the starters usually do offensive.
Brown has options for who could replace Simmons in the Philadelphia 76ers starting five. It could completely he may just go with who fits best in a particular matchup or he may just choose one and stick. It will be interesting to see which direction Brown decides to take in this decision.
