A fresh look at the first 30 picks in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The 2020 NBA Draft is slated for October 16. As the date gradually creeps closer, the picture becomes clearer. This is a strange rookie class — one short on top-end talent, but not so short on depth and intrigue. How the top of this draft shakes out is still largely undecided. Even the No. 1 pick is still up in the air.
A lot of how this draft plays out — at least in the lottery — will depend on, you know, the lottery. The order could determine which prospects get picked as high as No. 1 and 2, which isn’t normally the case. So, of course, we followed recent tradition and ran a Tankathon simulation to determine the order.
Congrats to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have won the lottery in two consecutive simulations. The Knicks are bumped to No. 2, and the Kings come in at No. 3 — the second time in five simulations that Sacramento has jumped into the top-four.
This is a mock draft — not a big board. These picks are predictions and take into account team needs. These are not the picks I would personally make, nor is this an outline of my personal top 30. If you would like to read my most recent big board, you can do so here.
