Dawn Staley
She is a born-and-bread Philadelphian. She grew up balling on the playgrounds of North Philadelphia, going against the likes of the late Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble. She played at Murrell Dobbins Tech and, after winning several Olympic gold medals for the USA, coached at Temple University for eight years.
She is currently the very successful coach at the University of South Carolina. The Gamecocks won the 2017 NCAA championship and are now a consistent national power.

Much like Jay Wright, there is little reason for her to leave. She runs one of the top programs in the country, has a job basically for life, and is paid well ( not as much as Wright or his male counterparts, but still very comfortable).
However, Staley has reportedly said if the Sixers did reach out to her, she would be interested in listening.
While there are many pros to Staley being the coach, her success as a player as well as a coach giving her instant credibility, the big negative against her would be lack of NBA experience.
As successful men’s college coaches like John Calipari, Rick Pitino and most recently John Beilein have discovered, coaching in the NBA is a different animal. There are more games, less teaching, and you are dealing with adults, not kids intimidated by your reputation, and you do have to deal with them.
Staley is smart enough to eventually adjust but to take on a team with NBA title hopes right off the bat might be a tall order.
