One potential trade from every Northwest Division team: Portland Trail Blazers
Finding a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Philadelphia 76ers was difficult. It seems unlikely that the Blazers are willing to move their core of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. They also have six players who are for certain entering free agency and two more players who have player options on their contracts.
Neither team have players that the other franchise needs to fill their needs without breaking up their core players. With that in mind, I’m going to take a similar approach as I did with the Los Angeles Lakers in my article covering potential trades with each team in the Pacific Division.
This trade is pretty straight forward, Philly trades the 21st, 34th, and 58th picks for the 16th. The Sixers have way too many picks so trading up makes sense for the franchise. Trading up to the 16th pick gives the 76ers the chance to select a player who has lottery pick level talent but fell out of the lottery for whatever reason.
The Blazers can load up on draft pick and either use them to draft young cheap talent or to use them in a difficult trade. Getting three picks for the price of one considering the gap between the 21st and the 16th isn’t big should be a big win for the Blazers in that regard.
